et(e)n-

et(e)n-
    et(e)n-
    English meaning: seed; corn
    Deutsche Übersetzung: “Kern, Korn”??
Material: Gk. ἔτνος n. “a thick soup of pulse, pea-soup, mash of legumes “ one places to M.Ir. eitne m. ‘seed”, schott.-Gael. eite “unhusked ear of corn”, eitean ‘seed, corn, grain”; the unlenierte voiceless -t- between vowels is puzzling though, because it can only go back to -tt-.
